Business Intelligence
Business Intelligence (BI) is a broad category of disciplines and technologies for gathering, storing, providing access and analyzing data to help enterprise users make better, faster business decisions. Effective BI increases the quality of strategic and operative planning and reduces the time used for decision-making processes. The purpose of BI is to be able to anticipate the activities of customers and competitors, as well as the trends prevailing in the markets. BI includes such tasks as data sourcing, data warehousing and OLAP, data mining, decision support. This course aims to introduce the emerging BI technologies. On completion of this course, students should be able to understand the application of various information technologies for BI that support transformation and analysis of massive amounts of transaction data.
