Barbara E. McMullen is the Director of the Marist College Center for E-Business. In her role as director of e-commerce initiatives
at Marist, McMullen seeks to leverage expensive technology investments to develop new revenue opportunities for the college.
McMullen has over 30 years working with mainframe and micro computers, both at the technical and executive levels; authored
one of the first books on microcomputer communications, and written over 900 articles on technology. She also has over
15 years of teaching at the college, graduate, and adult education levels (including use of innovative distance education techniques).
As president of McMullen & McMullen, Inc. she worked primarily with Wall Street firms to integrate microcomputers and applications
into the overall technology infrastructure. Consulting work also includes using streaming rich media to enhance internal
communications, e-learning, and supplier relations. Marist College has a significant digital library, media asset management, and knowledge management infrastructure. Collaboration with the IBM Corporation brings to Marist a new high capacity streaming media server technology that includes an IBM eServer zSeries mainframe server with Linux operating under VM and support for virtual servers. |
